Fees:
$330.00 per block of lessons. Each block consists of 2 months.
When an extra lesson is scheduled or if a student starts in the middle of a block, the cost is $40.00 per lesson.
Classes:
New students are in The Pony School Program. they will start with a 45 minute mounted lesson. There will be one to two unmounted lessons per block. Students will learn tacking-up, grooming, bathing, proper tack care and maintenance, stable management, farm safety, and other horsemanship skills.
Students in their first year of lessons after Pony School will be scheduled for 1 1/2 hour lessons with 45 minutes being mounted. They are expected to arrive 20 to 30 minutes before their class.
The student will be responsible for grooming, tacking their pony before the mounted portion of the class begins. After their ride, they will properly cool out their pony and "tuck" them in for the night.
The next level of lessons will be 1 3/4 hours with 1 hour mounted.
Make up policy:
We need 24 hours notice if you can not attend your lesson. One class per block may be made up when space is available in another class. If Irish Oaks cancels a class, that class will be rescheduled for another day. Classes do meet when it is raining and are held in our covered arena. If classes conflict in the covered arena due to bad weather, your class may start 15 to 30 minutes late or your pony may already be tacked up upon your arrival.
Shows:
Schooling shows are held throughout the year in the Piedmont area. Once you have been enrolled in our lesson program for one year, students need to attend at least 3 shows a year. Showing is fun and allows the student the chance to continually build skills and self confidence. Students may show sooner with their instructor's approval.
Lessons are scheduled Sunday thru Saturday. Enrollment is a two month period beginning in January.
